An architectural designer, new home owner and community leader talk about Lifetime Design.

Lifetime Design sets new standards for accessible and adaptable home design

It is no secret that the way our houses and everyday products have been designed don't work for a large percentage of the population.  Thanks to Lifetime Design - all that is changing.

The need has never been greater for products, services and environments to be designed in such a way that they include diverse demands of today’s consumers – including young families, older people and people with disabilities.

Simple design features such as wider doorways, level entries, adaptable bathrooms and easy to use fixtures and fittings ensure Lifetime Designed houses are accessible and workable for everyone

Lifetime Design helps the lifetime designer with the standards and guidelines for lifetime designs and lifetime design homes for the aged, ageing in place and adaptable housing.

David Russell AmbassadorLifetime Design - Think about Tomorrow Today

"Until recently most of you knew me as the public face of the Consumers Institute.  What's less well known though is my background in Architectural Drafting.  It was a long time ago, but I have kept a passion for house designs that work well for the people who live in them. So I am absolutely delighted to be the ambassador for Lifetime Design. I am doing my best to promote Lifetime Design as a powerful voice in making New Zealand houses accessible, adaptable and workable for everyone."
